The Whirlpool Quiet Plus Dishwasher has a filter canister that prevents food debris and grease from entering the plumbing system where it is likely to clog pipes and drains. If you use the Whirlpool Quiet Plus Dishwasher every day, you should clean out the filter canister at least once a month. Not doing so will reduce the efficacy with which your Quiet Plus is able to clean the dishes. Clean the filter more often if you use your Quiet Plus more than once a day.

Open the Quiet Plus door and by locating the recessed button on the top of the door and pushing up. Pull the door all the way open and pull out the lower dish rack so that it is resting on top of the door.

Separate the upper filter section by pulling gently upward. Clean with soap and warm water.
